'Breaking Dawn - Part 2' Unlike Any 'Twilight' Movie, Kristen Stewart Says

During MTV Movie Awards Sneak Peek Week, KStew explains why the final film of the saga left her 'shell-shocked.'

Even with one enormous summer blockbuster a week away from release, Kristen Stewart excitedly discussed the conclusion to the "Twilight Saga" at a MTV Movie Awards Sneak Peek Week event for "Snow White and the Huntsman."

"Breaking Dawn - Part 2," which won't hit theaters until this November, surely ranks among one of the most anticipated films of the year, and Stewart counts herself among those eager to see the finale. "I'm excited. I have to see it done," she told MTV News' Josh Horowitz. "I haven't seen it. It's a big deal."

The story for the final "Twilight" will take the story in an intriguing different direction as Bella adjusts to life as a new mom and a new vampire, no longer the plain Jane every-girl. Stewart told MTV News that the change makes for a surprisingly different movie experience.

"It's so bizarre, the tone change. You've always been behind her. You've always been using her. She's how you see that world," she said. "Now that her perspective has completely changed, it's like 'Where am I?' It's really cool. I, myself, am still a little bit shell-shocked. It's not like sitting down and watching a 'Twilight' movie." From the sounds of it, "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" will likely have more than a few award-worthy moments, much like "Part 1". Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson will be returning to the MTV Movie Awards this year to defend their long-running legacy as the Best Kiss champions, along with several other nominations for "Breaking Dawn - Part 1."

Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote for your favorite flicks now! The 21st annual MTV Movie Awards air live this Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET.

(AP) ? Those cute mail-order chicks that wind up in children's Easter baskets and backyard farms have been linked to more than 300 cases of salmonella in the U.S. ? mostly in youngsters ? since 2004.

An estimated 50 million live poultry are sold through the mail each year in the United States in a business that has been booming because of the growing popularity of backyard chicken farming as a hobby among people who like the idea of raising their own food.

But health officials are warning of a bacterial threat on the birds' feet, feathers, beaks and eggs.

"Most people can tell you that chicken meat may have salmonella on it," said Casey Barton Behravesh of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. "But surprisingly, we found many people are not aware that live chicks and chickens can spread salmonella to people."

Since 2004, at least 316 people in 43 states got sick in an outbreak tied primarily to one mail-order hatchery. Health officials believe thousands more illnesses connected to the business were probably never reported.

No one died, but three dozen people were hospitalized with bloody diarrhea or other symptoms. The illnesses were detailed Wednesday in the New England Journal of Medicine.

Salmonella can cause diarrhea, fever and stomach pain but is rarely fatal. It is most dangerous to very young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems. The infection is usually contracted from food, but live animals can transmit it, too, because the bacteria can be in their feces.

Salmonella outbreaks have been linked to hatcheries for more than 50 years. And health officials have long warned that people can get salmonella from touching chickens ? especially children, who tend to put their fingers in their mouths. Indeed, the CDC says children under 5 shouldn't be allowed to touch chickens at all.

Health officials also advise people not to bring birds into their homes and to wash their hands thoroughly after handling live poultry.

About 20 hatcheries mail live chicks overnight in the U.S., supplying not only feed stores and farms but amateurs with backyard coops. The mail-order houses have been seeing record sales in recent years.

"It's all part of this greener, healthier lifestyle," said Behravesh, a veterinary epidemiologist.

Jonah McDonald, a 32-year-old Atlanta man who keeps three hens and insists a backyard egg tastes better, said he does not know of anyone who has gotten salmonella from handling chickens.

"The kids in my neighborhood come over and feed scraps to my chickens," he said. "It's a real community thing."

The CDC described an eight-year investigation into salmonella illnesses, with more than 80 percent of the cases tied to a single hatchery in the western U.S. While CDC officials refused to identify the business, a previous report on the investigation by the health agency indicated it is in New Mexico.

Investigators interviewed victims and concluded many had caught salmonella from touching chicks or ducklings, often at home. From there, most of the illnesses were traced to the hatchery.

Behravesh said the hatchery has taken steps to curb the spread of salmonella ? including replacing equipment, adopting new egg-cleaning procedures and vaccinating chickens ? and is not considered a health threat. She said she was not aware of any fines or penalties against the business over the outbreak.

During the eight years studied, the annual number of illnesses linked to the hatchery ranged as high as 84, with 29 cases last year and only one so far in 2012.

NYT: Check in married and then check out single

The American marriage, it seems, is on the rocks. The common line ? true or not ? is that half of all marriages in this country end in divorce.

So here comes a plucky entrepreneur from, of all places, the Netherlands, with a wild, you?ve-got-to-be-joking plan to profit from the sorry state of so many American unions.

It?s called Divorce Hotel, and the idea is this: Check in on Friday, married. Then, with the help of mediators and independent lawyers, check out on Sunday, divorce papers in hand, all for a flat fee.

And ? why not? ? toss in some reality TV for good measure.

Unusual as it sounds, the Divorce Hotel concept is up and running in the Netherlands, where its mastermind, Jim Halfens, is helping unhappy marrieds divorce en suite. Seventeen couples have tried it so far. All but one left divorce-ready.

Now Mr. Halfens, 33, wants to take the idea to the United States. He is negotiating with hotels in several cities, including New York and Los Angeles, as well as with law firms and, yes, two television production companies ? for a reality show.

American divorce lawyers roll their eyes. Sure, ?Divorce Hotel? sounds catchy. But most breakups are too complicated ? or, frankly, too acrimonious ? to be worked out in a cozy hotel room somewhere.

Robert S. Cohen, the lawyer who helped guide Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, Christie Brinkley, Ivana Trump and other A-listers to splitsville, says he wishes he?d thought of the idea. It?s a great gimmick, he says ? but as a practical matter, he adds, it probably wouldn?t work for most couples, let alone for the well-heeled types he advises.

It might if a couple were still friends and their financial arrangements were straightforward, he says. But in his view, it?s unlikely to work for complicated cases involving, say, significant property or business holdings, complex stock options or offshore accounts that must be traced or assessed.

?The notion of being able to ? at the beginning of a split-up ? spend a weekend putting these various pieces together and coming to a solution to them would be virtually impossible,? Mr. Cohen says. ?I don?t see how one would do it and come up with a fair result.?

He notes that divorce proceedings are often a highly emotional time for couples. ?And the notion they?re now going to spend two days with each other at some fancy hotel seems to me not to be a very likely scenario,? he says. ?Most people getting divorced don?t want to see each other again except when they have to.?

Mr. Cohen would be the first to tell you that divorce is big business these days. In the United States alone, estimates of what might be called the divorce industry range from $50 billion to $175 billion a year, depending on what costs are included. (Lawyers, after all, are only the beginning.) More than 1.2 million people in the United States filed for divorce in 2009, the most recent year for which data are available, according to the National Center for State Courts.

Mr. Halfens came up with the idea for Divorce Hotel after watching a college friend go through a painful divorce.

?He was losing weight, he was unable to have fun in life anymore and they were fighting every time you saw them ? it was horrible,? Mr. Halfens says of his friend. The divorce negotiations dragged on for five months, he says ? not all that long, by American standards.

?I was convinced there has to be another way,? Mr. Halfens says.

So, drawing on a background in marketing, as well as a stint at a law firm, he opened Divorce Hotel. And, by the way, it isn?t just a single hotel. Mr. Halfens has struck agreements with six high-end hotels in the Netherlands, most of which are reluctant to be seen as the Divorce Hotel, or even to divulge that they participate in the program.

Couples stay in separate rooms. A suite is used for mediation talks. Hotel staff members receive special instructions ? and are told that these are no ordinary guests. ?You don?t want the hotel crew wishing you a very nice weekend and hoping you have lots of fun here,? says Mr. Halfens, who evaluates couples first, to enhance the odds of success.

Divorce Hotel charges a flat fee of $3,500 to $10,000, depending on the complexity of a couple?s financial arrangements. Divorces in the United States tend to cost $5,000 to $20,000, though the cost can soar depending on the assets involved, the case?s complexity and, perhaps most crucially, whether child custody is an issue, according to Randall M. Kessler, chairman of the American Bar Association?s family law section.

Child custody battles and cases involving complex financial arrangements, such as self-owned businesses and stock options, tend to be the costliest, he says, with fees often exceeding $100,000 from each party.

Once the couple check out, they need only show the papers to a judge to have their divorce made final. Of course, marriage laws vary from state to state, which is why Mr. Halfens is in talks with law firms and hotels in different states.

Last September, a 44-year-old computer consultant in the Netherlands checked into a Divorce Hotel with his wife. He spoke on the condition that his full name not be used, to protect their privacy.

Both had been through divorces before. The first time, he says, he lost the equivalent of $30,000 just on lawyer and court costs. The process took a year.

?There was a lot of fighting ? not by us, but our lawyers,? he recalls. ?Every letter her attorney wrote had to be answered by mine. That financially ruined me.?

He and his second wife wanted to end their seven-year marriage on friendly terms. ?We were both divorced before and we both experienced a lot of pain and misery,? he says.

So they opted for the Divorce Hotel ? and were thrilled with the results. On his divorce weekend, he says, they went out on the town for dinner and wine. ?It wasn?t weird or wrong,? he says, ?We felt great ? like friends.?

Mr. Halfens tells the story of one couple who got along so well during the weekend talks that the mediator wondered whether they would reconcile. ?They were so positive that they went to the beach together,? he says. Ultimately, though, they pressed on with the divorce. Another time, a couple shared their final night together in the hotel?s honeymoon suite.

?We were a bit flabbergasted,? Mr. Halfens says. That couple, too, ended up divorcing.

Mr. Halfens has big plans for Divorce Hotel. He?s written a book, due out next year, and says that in addition to the hotels in the United States, he has talked to hotels in Britain, Italy and Germany about hosting his program.

Under his agreements with the two American production companies, Base Productions and A. Smith & Company, some couples would be followed and filmed as they go through Divorce Hotel.

Mickey Stern, co-chief executive of Base Productions, says he jumped at the chance to produce a show around Divorce Hotel. ?These are real people getting real divorces ? or at least attempting to get real divorces ? and it has all of the human drama of this significant process all condensed down into a very short period of time,? Mr. Stern says. Given the number of people who get divorces in the United States ? and the possibility for some TV fireworks ? the audience could be huge, he says.

?Divorce Hotel is as real as it gets,? he says. ?If there?s a conflict, it?s real because the stakes are real.? He says he expects the show to have its debut this fall, although he declined to name the network.

Television aside, could Divorce Hotel really work here? Mr. Cohen, the divorce lawyer, says the courts are so backed up with cases that people are moving toward mediation and arbitration to end marriages, at least when huge sums of money or child custody are not at stake.

But, like Mr. Cohen, Jason Marks, a divorce lawyer in Miami, says complex cases cannot be resolved in a weekend. And some people may do all sorts of things when a marriage runs into trouble: hide money, undervalue assets, perpetrate fraud.

?That happens all the time,? Mr. Marks says. It takes time ? and expensive lawyers ? to sort it all out.

Mr. Halfens concedes that only one of every three couples that apply for his program is accepted. His team tries to ensure that both parties want to divorce and are willing to work with a mediator. If the couple is bickering or barely speaking to each other, or if greed or vengeance seems to be a motivation, the couple is rejected.

Mr. Halfens, who is not married, has already invited Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher to Divorce Hotel, he says. They?re a perfect fit, in his view, since they?ve indicated they want to end their six-year marriage on friendly terms.

He hasn?t heard back.

The Value of Uninsured Motorist Insurance Coverage

One of the most devastating moments for some of my clients comes after a collision has taken place and they have been seriously hurt.? The devastation at that point is not necessarily the fact that they were injured in a car wreck, but learning that the insurance that they have been paying for does not protect them, but the other driver.

The law requires that a driver have minimum coverage of $25,000.? This insurance is there so that if a collision takes place for which the driver is at fault, the other driver has some recovery.?? In the end $25,000 may sound like a lot of money, but it is very small when you consider how much a serious injury can end up costing in medical bills, lost time at work, and a host of other factors.

The point of this article is to address uninsured motorist coverage.?? This is additional insurance over and above that $25,000 that covers the driver in the event that he or she is involved in a car wreck where the other driver did not have any insurance for whatever reason.? Yes, the other driver was breaking the law by driving without insurance, but this is far more common than any of us would like to believe.? When a person is hit by a driver without insurance, unless there is uninsured motorist coverage, the person may absolutely have little or no ability to receive any compensation for his or her injuries.? It is in that moment that the person realizes that the insurance they have been paying for, that minimum $25,000, does not mean that the insurance company pays him or her.

With uninsured motorist coverage, if and when a person is hit by someone without insurance, the driver?s own insurance company stands in the place of the other driver and may end up being responsible for paying compensation for the injuries that the driver sustained.? This additional insurance is vital given how many drivers are in the country illegally and how many are driving without valid insurance.? Although many would argue that it should be required by law, it is not at this time, and that means that many people out there are driving around unprotected.

I always feel terrible when I have to advise clients that they have no recourse but to file a lawsuit against someone who may be incarcerated because they were here illegally or perhaps against someone who was driving without insurance because they had no money.? In these situations, the chance of my client ever being able to get paid the first dime in compensation is usually a longshot.?? Many times, my clients chose not to purchase uninsured motorist coverage, or ?UM? or ?UIM? as it may be called, because they wanted to save as much money as possible when buying insurance.

Insurance is not something anyone ever wants to get there money?s worth from.? Even if you have excellent uninsured motorist coverage, the only way you will ever ?get your money?s worth? is to be seriously injured.? Although the wish to save money is something most of us want to do whenever possible, car insurance is not the place to cut corners.? As I learned years and years ago when I first took driver?s education as a teenager, the question is not whether or not you will be in a car wreck, but when and how serious the wreck will be.? I do not believe I have ever met anyone who has been driving for more than 10 or 15 years who has never been in any car wreck.? No matter how safe or defensive a driver you are, the other guy or girl behind the wheel may be talking, texting, drinking, eating, playing with the radio, or engaging in some other activity that takes their attention of the road.

In the end, it is best to evaluate what insurance you have and to ensure that you are sufficiently protected against a host of likely scenarios.? As for uninsured motorists, they are far more prevalent on our roads than they should be and anyone who fails to purchase this insurance coverage is placing themselves in a very, very dangerous situation.

Electric Providers in New Jersey and Pennsylvania Offer Great NJ ...

Having the ability to decide how much you want to pay for your electricity is a great way to help manage your budget. Whether you are gearing up for the warm summer months ahead or just trying to limit expenses, there are many New Jersey electric providers to choose from that can help you save money on your electric bill. There are several New Jersey electric providers that have created a very competitive market helping customers lower their New Jersey electricity rates.

Pennsylvania electric suppliers are also offering consumers competitive electric rates helping to lower millions of customer's electric bills each month. There is no longer a reason to keep the utility for your supply and delivery services when you can lower your electric supply charges by choosing a competitive New Jersey Electric Provider or Pennsylvania electric provider.

As the summer approaches and you plan to be using more electricity for your air conditioning and fans, you want to be sure you are getting the best rate available. Choices for your supplier can help you control this expense during the warmer months of summer just as they do in the winter season. To switch electric suppliers in New Jersey or Pennsylvania, you need to compare the rates being offered, the type of rate it is (fixed or variable), and then simply select a plan and supplier that offers you the best rate.

By selecting a competitive electric supply rate, you can save a significant amount of money each month depending upon your household or business usage. In addition to saving money, there are no fees to switch to a new electric supplier in Pennsylvania or New Jersey and you will continue to receive your bill from the utility you currently have.

For business customers, you typically want to get quotes from various suppliers or use an online service that can provide the best rates available from top electric suppliers in your area. You can typically either get a fixed or variable rate with fixed rate contracts being the most popular option. These contracts are generally for 6, 12, 24 or 36 months and some can be even longer. However, 12 and 24 months are usually the most popular terms for businesses as the rates are better in the shorter terms.

Today, deregulation has allowed customers the "power to choose" their electric supplier and receive competitive rates. For residents, you can simply make the switch to a new supplier at any time.

In today?s economy, consumers want to save money especially on energy bills. Many states today are deregulating their electric and gas markets and creating a competitive environment for new electric suppliers to help customers save on electric supply charges while the utility continues to deliver the power. To compare residential rates or receive a business quote, visit Make the Switch USA at www.maketheswitchusa.com.

Oleg Denisenko (update) - Lines and Colors

Oleg Denisenko
The wonderfully idiosyncratic graphics of Oleg Denisenko have a feeling of arcane instructional diagrams from some otherworldly past.

Denisenko is a Ukrainian printmaker, painter, calligrapher and sculptor. His intricately rendered images of figures, horses and fantastical mechanisms always seem connected to the past, and rich with potential meaning, but unfettered in imagination.

Since I originally wrote about Denisenko?s work back in 2007, he now has a dedicated website on which you will find an array of his graphics, his equally whimsical sculpture and works in color he identifies as levkas (image above, second from bottom).

As near as I can tell, the term refers to the grounds used by medieval Russian iconographers. Denisenko?s works in this category are rough surfaced, texturally three dimensional and apparently done in oil and/or tempera.

His graphics, however, steal the show, inviting you to spend time delving into their elaborate rendering and fascinating details.

First video taken with Google Glasses shared

19 hrs.

Google has publicly unveiled new photos and the first video from the real view of their augmented reality glasses prototype. The images show what the wearer sees while reading a newspaper, catching a football in the backyard and helping a smiling child play on the jungle gym.

Such views don't necessarily represent anything people haven't seen before with head-mounted portable cameras. But they do hint at how Google Glasses could enable many people beyond geeky life-casters to capture a diverse array of moments in their lives ? the video shows the bouncy viewpoint of the Google Glasses wearer doing flips on a trampoline.

Google tech lead Max Braun showed off the photos and video at the Google + Photographer's Conference on May 23.

The Internet search giant has yet to show off real images or photos of how the glasses could seamlessly integrate virtual information with what a person sees in the real world. Its earlier unveiling of "Project Glass" included a concept video that imagined a wearer getting social calendar reminders and map directions in his field of view.

Still, many members of the public still seem enthusiastic about just having a pair of glasses with a small camera attached. One of the top comments on the YouTube video of the trampoline jumping simply stated "Shut up and take my money!"

The most popular comment of all had a perhaps tongue-in-cheek suggestion for using the Google Glasses ? "Good for POV [point-of-view] porn."

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have taken their love affair to Cannes. The small-screen reality siren and the filmmaker/MC made a date night of West's "Cruel Summer" premiere this week in the famed French seaside town, where Kim showed up in a beaded white and gold dress, and Kanye had a more relaxed look , wearing a white blazer with a white T-shirt and jeans.

According to People.com, before the couple entered the premiere, the wind blew through Kardashian's hair and West stopped to fix it for her. Inside the bash, which was held in a tented pyramid, the PDA didn't end. As the screening wrapped, Kim reportedly whispered something in Kanye's ear before joining in a standing ovation for the rapper. They were spotted nuzzling later at the afterparty.

The film premiere was just the latest stop on Kim and Kanye's Tour de Cannes. One night earlier, they hit up Yeezy's "Cruel Summer" fete, and on Tuesday they attended a party thrown by Diddy, E! News reported. The pair turned up at his yacht party hand-in hand, with Kardashian wearing a lacy cropped top and matching high-waisted skirt, and West in a black hoodie, black tee and jeans.

While Kim initially arrived in France solo, West met up with her later. "It's my first time to Cannes and it's amazing!" Kardashian told Usmagazne.com. "I love it here."

Are you looking forward to seeing Kanye's "Cruel Summer"? Tell us in the comments!

In-store Xperia GX and SX video footage pops up online

While Japanese Xperia fans might have to wait a little while longer to get their hands on the Xperia GX and Xperia SX, how about some sample videos to make said extremities clammy in the meantime? So, they're not going to win any Oscars (unless there's a new category for "Best shaky in-store footage") any time soon, but the videos over the break give a taste of what we can expect from those 13- and 8-megapixel sensors. In time-honored Hollywood tradition, we're still wondering if the US remake will be just as good.

A ball of one? Lady Gaga unsure of Indonesia show

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) ? Lady Gaga is as confused as anyone about whether she'll be allowed to perform in Indonesia.

Islamic hard-liners have threatened violence, saying her sexy clothes and provocative dance moves could corrupt youth. Police initially denied a permit for the "Born This Way Ball" but are now hinting the concert could ahead if the pop diva toned down the show.

She tweeted Tuesday:

"The Jakarta situation is 2-fold: Indonesian authorities demand I censor the show & religious extremist separately, are threatening violence. If the show does go on as scheduled, I will perform the BTWBall alone."

What she meant wasn't clear, and her promoters have not commented.

Indonesia, a predominantly Muslim nation of 240 million people, was supposed to be the biggest show on Lady Gaga's Asian tour.

Toronto -- What could be more fun than traveling to a resort hotel for a week's summer vacation? Relaxing by the pool and meeting other guests sounds ideal for holiday fun. But watch out, not all "guests" are the kind you want to invite home for a visit. A growing problem for the hotel industry is bed bugs--small, wingless insects that feed on warm blood, preferably human. Even the most luxurious and expensive hotels are not immune to these little oval-shaped bugs who can ride in on a traveler's leather tote bag and take up residence in the swankiest hotel room. But take heart. GreenLeaf Pest Control has some tips about essential ways to prevent leaving the resort with bed bugs in tow:

* If you are planning to purchase new luggage, keep in mind that bed bugs prefer the textured surface of fabric suitcases. Choose hard-shell suitcases when you buy. Hard-shell luggage provides fewer spots for bed bugs to linger and cozy down.

* Before you get into bed, take time to inspect for bed bugs. Pull back the sheets and inspect the mattress seams for tell-tale signs of bed bugs. Look for brownish spots, shed skins, or bed bugs themselves. Remember to check the box springs and the attached headboard. If you should find anything suspicious, contact management immediately. Visit www.greenleafpestcontrol.com for more details about just what to look for.

* If you discover evidence of bed bugs and need to change rooms, make sure to request a room that is not on either side, above, or below the room where you detected the problem.

* Avoid placing your luggage on the bed. Use a luggage rack and place it in the middle of the room. Take out items as you need them.

* When returning home, unpack outside (in the garage or on the balcony) if possible; otherwise, inspect your luggage before bringing it inside. Place dirty clothing directly in the washing machine; any items that weren't worn should go directly into the dryer for a minimum of 40 minutes on the hottest setting.

* Keep your luggage stored in large sealed plastic bags until your next vacation.

Preventive actions will keep bed bugs away, but if you should bring home bed bugs, don't panic. Bed bugs are not known to spread disease, and safe and effective treatments are available.
